Kay Hagen is running for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina against antichoice Republican incumbent Elizabeth Dole.
Background:
Hagen is serving her fifth term as a member of the North Carolina State Senate representing the 27th district. She is Vice Chair of the Budget Committee. Hagen was named one of North Carolina’s “Ten Most Effective Legislators.” She was very involved in her community with the United Way, the National Conference for Community and Justice and school activities. Hagen graduated from Florida State University and Wake Forest University Law School.
